Clipper race begins with Vietnamese representative

Sailors of 11 teams, including a crew from Việt Nam named ‘Hạ Long Bay-Vietnam’, are taking part in the first leg from London in England to Portimao in Portugal.

 

 

 

HÀ NỘI  The Clipper Round The World Yacht Race began yesterday, about 700 amateur sailors setting off after months of preparation.

Sailors of 11 teams, including a crew from Việt Nam named ‘Hạ Long Bay-Vietnam’, are taking part in the first leg from London in England to Portimao in Portugal.

The race, which has eight legs across six oceans on 40,000-nautical milse (74,000km), will return to St Katharine Docks in August 2020 after about 11 months. VNS
