HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese cueist Mã Minh Cẩm won the tenth Asian Carom Championship one cushion carom, which concluded at the Nguyễn Du Gymnasium, HCM City on Tuesday.

Cẩm beat Seo Huyng Min from South Korea 100-51 after 15 moves.

The victory served as sweet revenge for Vietnamese, as previously, defending champion of 2018 Ngô Đình Nại was beaten by Seo in the quarter-final.

Besides Cẩm receiving $2,000, other cueists Nguyễn Sĩ Tường and Phạm Văn Hưng both collected bronze medals.

This year’s tournament attracted 16 cueists from Việt Nam, South Korea, Japan and Cambodia. Famous female cueist Sruong Pheavy from Cambodia competed with other male cueists.   

The second seed of the tournament, Cẩm also defeated Machida Tadashi from Japan before taking Seo down.

He will continue in the three cushion carom, held on April 24 and 25. — VNS
