Thai striker Supachai Jaided has been suspended for two matches by the Asian Football Federation (AFC) for striking Vietnamese midfielder Trần Đình Trọng in the AFC U23 Championship 2020 qualifying round at Mỹ Đình National Stadium on March 26.

HÀ NỘI — Thai striker Supachai Jaided has been suspended for two matches by the Asian Football Federation (AFC) for striking Vietnamese midfielder Trần Đình Trọng in the AFC U23 Championship 2020 qualifying round at Mỹ Đình National Stadium on March 26.

After launching a punch at Trọng, the Buriram United striker received a straight red card in Thailand's 0-4 loss to Việt Nam.

He has also been fined $1,000.

Jaided is a key striker for the Thai team and the country's U23 team. His absence is likely to hurt Thailand in the final round of the AFC U23 Championshiop 2020 in Thailand next January. — VNS
