HÀ NỘI — Maksim Koshkin from Russia won the men’s category of the international windsurfing competition – Fun Cup 2019 which concluded in the central coastal province of Bình Thuận over the weekend.
Maksim Oberemko and Alexey Truson of Russia were the runners-up.
On the women’s side, Koshkin’s compatriot Anna Sagulenko finished first, followed by Trần Kim Chi of Việt Nam.
The two-day event featured 31 surfers from 13 countries and territories such as the UK, France, Russia, Estonia, South Korea, Japan, Thailand and Việt Nam. They competed in a 3,200m downwind slalom race in the men and women’s professional categories.
Hàm Tiến – Mũi Né beach’s blustery wind has made the site become an ideal place for windsurfing. The competition was the 20th of its kind so far. — VNS
