HÀ NỘI — Young Vietnamese tennis talent Nguyễn Văn Phương has qualified to compete in the Australian Open Junior Championships, scheduled to be held from January 19-26 next year.
The 17-year-old player performed well in the junior tournaments in South Korea, Japan and China to earn the right to compete in the Grand Slam. He reached the quarter-finals in men’s doubles at the World Super Junior Tennis Championships in Japan last month.
This will be the first time Phương – who won the U18 ITF Junior Cicruit G4 – Hải Đăng Cup 2018 – will play in the Grand Slam.
