HÀ NỘI — Young cyclist Phan Tuấn Vũ triumphed in the ninth stage of the Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa cycling tour in coastal Nha Trang city of Khánh Hòa Province yesterday.
Vũ of Bike Life Đồng Nai won the 189km stage from Buôn Ma Thuột City of Đắk Lắk Province to Nha Trang in a time of 5:03.58.
Daniel Carino from Cambodia and Nguyễn Thắng from Minh Giang – HCM City finished second and third, respectively.
Nguyễn Minh Việt from Vietnam USA Society English Centres (VUS HCM City) retains the yellow jersey after nine stages with an overall time of 32:34.34.
Lê Nguyệt Minh of Minh Giang holds both the green sprinter’s jersey and the polka dot king of the mountains jersey, while the white best young rider jersey is worn by Kim Chantou of Cambodia.
In the team rankings, Lộc Trời An Giang Group lead with a total time of 97:41.27, followed by Domesco Đồng Tháp and VUS HCM City.
Cyclists will tackle the 10th stage today from Nha Trang to Đà Lạt city of Lâm Đồng Province, a distance of 98km with challenging hilly terrain. — VNS
