HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội sports team lead the medal table after six days at the National Sports Games.

The capital team has so far won 10 gold medals, 12 silver, and 12 bronze, followed by HCM City with nine gold, seven silver, and bronze and Bình Dương with three gold, two silver and one bronze.

Beach volleyball, dance sports and basketball 5x5 closed yesterday.

In beach volleyball, Khánh Hòa are top medalists with two gold and one bronze in both men and women’s categories. Runners-up are Hồ Chí Minh City with a silver and a bronze. Second runners-up are Hải Phòng with one silver.

In dancesports, Hà Nội confirm their power with five gold, six silver and five bronze, followed by Đồng Nai with three gold, one silver and four bronze, and HCM City with two gold, three silver and one bronze.

In basketball, winner are HCM City with two golds in men’s and women’s categories. Runners-up are Cần Thơ and Military with two silvers for each, while Hà Nội won two bronze and Bình Thuận, Quảng Ninh took one bronze.  

Meanwhile, other sports being competed are pétanque, handball, badminton, diving, pencak silat, tennis, rowing, fitness and cycling.  

In tennis men’s doubles, there were no surprises as Lý Hoàng Nam and Lê Khánh Duy of Bình Dương team beat Đà Nẵng 2-0, to win a place in the final.   

HCM City team also entered final at 2-1. While Thái Nguyên beat Thái Nam from Đắk Lắk 6-2, 6-4, Đắc Tiến from Hà Nội beat Minh Quân from HCM City 6-3, 6-3.

In men’s doubles, Quốc Khánh and Minh Quân beat Đắc Tiến and Xuân Hậu from Hà Nội 6-1, 7-5.

In the women’s singles, Fodor Csilla beat Như Quỳnh from 6-0, 6-2, while Thanh Bình from Đà Nẵng beated Đài Trang from HCM City 6-4, 6-1.

Đà Nẵng team won a ticket to finals and will meet Kiên Giang, who beat Hà Nội 2-0 in the semi-finals. — VNS
