HÀ NỘI — The Hà Nội and Hải Phòng diving teams won a gold each in the second competition day of National Sports Games, held late Wednesday at Mỹ Đình Water Sports Gymnasium.

In the men’s 3m synchronised diving, Dương Văn Thành and Nguyễn Tùng Dương from Hải Phòng took gold with 288.48 points, while Vũ Anh Duy and Phương Thế Anh from Hà Nội were runners-up with 231.45 points and Võ Trọng Thành and Bùi Xuân Hào from Hồ Chí Minh City took bronze with 212.58 points.

In the women’s 3m synchronised diving, Nguyễn Phương Anh and Ngô Phương Mai from Hà Nội took gold with 209.01 points. Runners-up were Nguyễn Vũ Thảo Quỳnh and Hoàng Lê Thanh Thúy from Hồ Chí Minh City with 192.24 points. Third were Hoàng Hồng Phượng and Mai Hồng Hạnh from Quảng Ninh with 145.47 points.

After two days of competition, the capital’s diving team leads the medal table with four golds and four silvers, followed by Quảng Ninh with one gold, one silver, three bronzes and Hải Phòng with one gold, one silver and two bronzes.

They will resume competition today. Diving will finish on November 24.

In tennis, Đà Nẵng won in the semi-finals at Hà Nội Indoor Games Gymnasium.

In the women’s singles, Vietnamese – Hungarian Fodor Csilla beat Phan Như Quỳnh from Đắk Lắk Province 6-0, 6-2.

In the next match, Phan Thị Thanh Bình from Đà Nẵng overcame Huỳnh Phương Đài Trang from Hồ Chí Minh City 6-4, 6-1.

Đà Nẵng will face Kiên Giang, who beat Hà Nội, in the final.

In men’s singles, Hồ Chí Minh City won a ticket to the finals with total score 2-1. Tất Thái Nguyên beat Vũ Thái Nam from Hà Nội 6-2, 6-4. 

Meanwhile, Nguyễn Đắc Tiến from Hà Nội defeated Đỗ Minh Quân from Hồ Chí Minh City 6-3, 6-3.
