Minh knocked out of world badminton champs

Việt Nam’s top badminton player Nguyễn Tiến Minh was knocked out in the second round of the men’s singles at the World Badminton Championships yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s top badminton player Nguyễn Tiến Minh was knocked out in the second round of the men’s singles at the World Badminton Championships yesterday.

The event was held at Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre in China.

Olympian Minh lost to No 16 seed Anders Antonsen of Denmark 21-16, 21-18 in 45 minutes.

Minh had beaten Maxime Moreels of Belgium 21-10, 21-5 in the first round.

The Vietnamese duo Bảo Minh and Dương Bảo Đức also lost to  Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov of Russia 21-13, 21-14 in the men’s doubles.

The event will conclude on August 5. — VNS
