Chanelle Vân Nguyễn triumphs in VTF Pro Tour

Vietnamese-American Chanelle Vân Nguyễn of Hưng Thịnh HCM City triumphed in the women’s singles category of the VTF Pro Tour 3 – third Open Viettravel Cup 2018 which concluded in Đà Nẵng on June 10.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese-American Chanelle Vân Nguyễn of Hưng Thịnh HCM City triumphed in the women’s singles category of the VTF Pro Tour 3 – third Open Viettravel Cup 2018 which concluded in Đà Nẵng on June 10.

Nguyễn, who is ranked 630th on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour, defeated her teammate Đào Minh Trang 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

Earlier, in the women’s doubles, the 24-year-old player and No 1 seed Nguyễn also won the title. She paired with Trang to beat duo Trần Thụy Thanh Trúc and Phan Như Quỳnh 7-5, 6-2 in the final.

Meanwhile, Trịnh Linh Giang of Becamex Bình Dương took the title of men’s singles after winning the national defending champion Phạm Minh Tuấn 1-6, 6-4 and 6-3.

The event saw the participation of nearly 100 players from 10 teams nationwide such as Ninh Thuận, Vĩnh Phúc and Hà Nội, competing in men’s and women’s singles and doubles. — VNS
