HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội’s female team triumphed at the National Boxing Clubs Cup which finished in the Central Highlands province of Đắk Lắk on Saturday.
The team brought home three golds, two silvers and four bronzes. The Hanoian gold medallists are Asian champion Nguyễn Thị Tâm in the women’s 51kg, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Thơm in the 54kg category, and Nguyễn Thị Hương in the 81kg division.
An Giang finished second with one gold, two silvers and two bronzes, while Hải Phòng came third with one gold and a silver.
On the men’s side, Đắk Lắk topped the medal tally with two golds, one silver and three bronzes, followed by Đà Nẵng and HCM City.
The event featured nearly 200 male and female boxers from 48 clubs in 34 cities and provinces across the country, competing in 22 weight categories.
The tournament was organised by the Việt Nam Boxing Federation and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. — VNS
