Việt Nam Football Federation won the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Developing Member Association of the Year award at the AFC Annual Awards 2017 ceremony on Wednesday in Bangkok.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam Football Federation won the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Developing Member Association of the Year award at the AFC Annual Awards 2017 ceremony on Wednesday in Bangkok.

During the year, VFF hosted several continental competitions, including the Futsal Club Championship and the AFF futsal tournament.

The federation was also involved in various development programmes of AFC, along with activities to promote football among women, the youth and the community.

The prestigious award is given to a member association in recognition of its professional administration and governance, as well as its exceptional contribution to the development and promotion of the game at all levels in the country.

VFF Deputy President Trần Quốc Tuấn was present at the event and received the statuette.

"We are very happy and proud and would like to thank AFC for the recognition. I hope this award serve as motivate to develop Vietnamese football in the future,” Tuấn said.

AFC also presented several other awards at the ceremony, including Best Player, Best Women’s Player, Best Coach and Best Futsal Players. — VNS
