HÀ NỘI — Vincent Nguyễn scored 23 points to help the Hanoi Buffaloes beat HCM City Wings 81-74 at the Việt Nam Basketball Association (VBA) League match on Tuesday.

He also had four rebounds and five assists during the match, being held at the Hồ Xuân Hương Gymnasium, which saw him successful with all nine free throws.

Nguyễn was, no doubt, voted the MVP of the match.

On the other hand, the Wings’ Bilal Richardson was sent off for the second match in a row after five personal fouls. The absence of their key player after just a few minutes, affected the hosts’ team power.

The Buffaloes took the lead in all first three quarters, although the gap was only one to two points. They made consecutive attacks in the final one and separated from the Wings who struggled to collect, point by point.

The visitors finalised the result at 81-74 and secured their fourth win of the season.

It did not improve their No 4 position but helped widen the gap between them and the Wings who are at No 5, with three wins so far.

In the next fixture of the tournament, Cantho Catfish will host Thang Long Warriors at the Cần Thơ Gymnasium on Thursday. — VNS
