HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Duy Hoàng and Nguyễn Thị Hoà won two gold medals each at the National Shooting Cup on Thursday in Hà Nội.
Members of the Army team dominated the men’s individual 10m air rifle event.
Hoàng triumphed with a score of 242.7 points. Nguyễn Thành Nam and Nguyễn Duy Dũng came second and third place respectively.
The national team marksman Hoàng, Nguyễn Văn Chương and Nguyễn Thành Nam took part in the team event, where they succeeded with 1,749 points.
In the women’s 50m prone rifle individual event, Hoà from Hải Dương claimed the title, scoring 590 points.
Army teammates Nguyễn Thị Phương and Nguyễn Huyền Trang were runners-up.
Hải Dương trio, which included Hoà, Nguyễn Thị Hằng and Lê Thị Anh Đào, went on to take the team title with 1,750 points.
Earlier, the Army team also won the men’s team 25m pistol event with a score of 1,712 points.
In the individual event, Phan Xuân Chuyên of HCM City beat the title favourite Hà Minh Thành of Army to take gold.
Chuyên ranked third, while Thành was on top after the qualifications. But Chuyên’s outstanding performance in the final brought him 27 points, four more than Thành, who finished third. Đậu Văn Đông also from Army squad was second with 26 points.
The last gold of the day went to soldier Nguyễn Thị Thu Hằng who shot 373 points in the women’s 10m air rifle running target event.
Hanoian Đặng Hồng Hà finished second, followed by Nguyễn Thị Lệ Quyên from Hải Phòng.
After four days, the Army team is in first place with seven golds. Hải Dương is second with two, while HCM City take third, with one.
