HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s men’s football team dropped down two steps in the first world ranking list of 2017.
The squad was at number 136, with 218 points. It was at number 22 in Asia and third in the Southeast Asia, a region led by the Philippines (No 122) and Thailand (No 126).
The world’s top 10 remained unchanged with Argentina topping the chart. Brazil and Germany came second and third, respectively.
In Asia, Iran and South Korea maintained their position at No 1 and No 2, respectively. Australia jumped three steps up to take the third position, pushing powerhouse Japan to fourth.
The next rankings will be announced on February 9. — VNS
