Tâm wins stage, Minh retains lead in the cycling event

HÀ NỘI — National team member Nguyễn Thành Tâm won the first stage of the Bến Tre Television Cycling Tournament yesterday.

Tâm, a member of the Hạt Ngọc Trời crew, topped the fifth stage of the event, completing 50 laps around Đồng Xoài Town in Bình Phước Province with a timing of 51.41min.

Yellow jersey holder Lê Nguyệt Minh of Mathnasium HCM City and Lê Văn Duẩn of VUS HCM City came second and third, respectively.

Having booked his berth among the top three, Minh confirmed his leading role in the tournament with a total time of 12:39.31.

He also tops the green jersey category with 72 points.

Tâm’s efforts played a key role in pushing his team Hạt Ngọc Trời to the top of the team ranking table. Domesco Đồng Tháp and VUS HCM City are following close behind.

Cyclists will today cover the sixth stage from Bình Phước to Tây Ninh Province, a stretch of 155km. — VNS
