HÀ NỘI – Việt Nam’s top tennis player, Lý Hoàng Nam, jumped six slots this week to 877th place in the world rankings.

The 19-year-old player didn’t play any events in the past week but his rankings still rose.

The tennis player aims to enter the top 800 world rankings this year. Nam, born in the southern Tây Ninh Province, was already ranked 870th in the world in April by 883rd last week.

Nam won the boys’ doubles category at the 2015 Wimblendon Championships along with his Indian partner Sumit Nagal, becoming the first Vietnamese tennis player to win a Grand Slam trophy. —  VNS
