HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese athletes won two golds at the Southeast Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship on May 14 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Việt Nam dominated the U19 boys' doubles event with two pairs advancing to the final match at the Olympic Council of Malaysia Sports Complex.
Trần Mạnh Cường and Nguyễn Hoàng Lâm defeated their teammates Nguyễn Duy Phong and Đinh Quang Minh 3-0.
Duo Đỗ Mạnh Lương and Đinh Nhật Nam overcame Malaysian Lee Hong An and Darren Wong Whai Xun 3-2 in the U15 boys' doubles final.
In the girls' U19 doubles, Vietnamese pair Nguyễn Như Quỳnh and Đỗ Lê Vân Chi took silver after losing 3-0 to Loy Ming Ying and Chiang Janelle of Singapore in the final match.
After three days of competitions, Việt Nam has won two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
The singles events will take place on May 15-16. — VNS
