HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam finished second in the Southeast Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championship on April 28 in Thailand.
Nguyễn Hoàng Long and Danh Chanh Sa May successfully advanced to the men's final match against Rueangrit and Suranath of the hosts.
They went ahead to win the first set at 21-19 and had a chance to take the championship title when taking lead in the second set. However, the Thais came back strongly to level the score at 20-all before winning two last points to level the score of the match.
Under strong support of local fans, Rueangrit and Suranath dominated the third set before winning 15-7 to take the tournament's gold medal.
The women's matches will be held from May 1-5 with Vietnamese duo Huỳnh Diễm Cát Linh and Thạch Thị Phúc. — VNS
