ĐÀ NẴNG — Central city football team SHB Đà Nẵng are desperate to make amends for their shock relegation last season and bounce straight back into the top flight by winning V.League 2.
Team coach, Trương Việt Hoàng expressed his commitment and determination to the team at an introduction ceremony on October 13, promising their best efforts to return to V.League 1.
“The team are geared up for the first tough game against neighbouring Huế at home in Hòa Xuân Stadium on October 21. All players will only have eyes on top performances in every single match,” Hoàng said.
“SHB Đà Nẵng will forget bad memories from last year’s competition and aim to win the V.League 2 championship for automatic promotion to V.League 1.”
The Hanoian-born coach said the season will be a challenge for the team, but SHB Đà Nẵng will make a dramatic face-lift in their tactical play to win not only the title, but the trust of local fans as well as previous glorious triumphs that the team had clinched in the 47-year history.
The team have been given financial support and sponsorships from the Sài Gòn-Hà Nội Bank, Kamito fashion, Mikado and the city’s leadership.
SHB Đà Nẵng recruited 15 new players for the 2023-24 football season including striker Nguyễn Minh Quang, Trịnh Hoa Hùng and Nguyễn Văn Tám as well as new coach Trương Việt Hoàng.
Striker Quang, who scored eight goals in the V.League 2 for Bình Thuận last year, and Nguyễn Hữu Dũng from Đông Á Thanh Hóa, will be two new valuable additions to the team.

Quang also had a spectacular performance with the national U-23 team at the ASEAN U-23 Football Championship.
The central team had a good warm up in the friendly Thiên Long Tournament earlier this month winning 2-0 over Hoàng Anh Gia Lai; drawing 2-2 to Quy Nhơn Bình Định and losing 3-1 to Quảng Nam.
Đà Nẵng will use the 20,000-seat Hòa Xuân stadium as a base for all matches in V.League 2 and the National Cup in 2023-24.
The team, who won the V.League championship in 1992, 2009 and 2012, will have a busy and hard football season in winning the trust of fans and reclaiming their powerhouse brand. VNS
