HÀ NỘI — Herbalife Vietnam has recently organised a one-of-a-kind training programme for Vietnamese sportspeople at the Proactive Sports Performance (ProActive) Training Centre in Westlake Village, Los Angeles, California, the US.
The eight-day course earlier this month was to provide Vietnamese coaches and athletes opportunities to participate in advanced training on methods to increase physical strength and fitness, and to restore sports function and nutrition.
The delegation's participants included representatives of the Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF), Việt Nam Olympic Committee, athletes and coaches.
During training, members directly observed and practiced measurement parameters, data review and analysis by leading nutrition and sports experts.
Through physical and fitness tests, observation, and direct training experience, athletes better understand their physical and mental strengths and weaknesses, physical fitness, and personal nutritional issues. Athletes were helped overcome weaknesses, promote resilience, and gradually improve sports performance.
The ProActive training centre officially opened in 2021 with cooperation and investment from Herbalife. It is designed to maximise performance and minimize the chance of injury for professional athletes, and Herbalife joins as a leading nutrition experts. This unique combination of expertise has helped many athletes improve and enhance their performance.

"Personally, I believe they apply science and technology to human development extremely well," said VFF Deputy General Secretary Nguyễn Minh Châu.
"The training trip gave us useful ideas for the physical development plan for Vietnamese football in the near future.”
General Manager of Herbalife Vietnam and Cambodia, Vũ Văn Thắng said: "This special training agenda is part of our long-term and comprehensive partnerships with Việt Nam Olympic Committee and Việt Nam Football Federation.
"I hope that following the experiences and observations from this programme, Herbalife and our sports partners in Việt Nam will continue working together on more initiatives to help Vietnamese athletes to improve their strengths and physiques.”
Herbalife is one of VFF's crucial partners from 2021. In addition to financial support, the premier health and wellness company is also a supplier of nutritional products, including specialised ones for sports and high-intensity activities.

This year, Herbalife went one step further by connecting VFF with the ProActive in the US.
The federation officials, coaches and athletes were given opportunities to survey and research training models that combine science of exercises and nutrition to optimize their ability and improve their performance.
These were all to help Việt Nam get higher results in major tournaments, a target that Herbalife has set up since becoming a sponsor of VFF. — VNS
