QUẢNG NINH — The National Roller Sports Clubs Championship have found 16 winners who will be national team members in upcoming international competitions.
More than 150 athletes from 12 clubs gathered together at the Quảng Ninh Province's Exhibition of Planning and Expo Centre over the weekend.
They competed in 12 individual and four team categories of different age groups.
Among the winners were Đường Minh Nhượt of Vietpassion club in the men's senior 1,600m; Huỳnh Thị Cẩm Ly of Vietpassion in the women's senior 1,200m; Nhan Ngọc Kiến Huy of District 6 in the men's junior 800m; and Sunskate club won both men's and women's Novice categories.
"The championship is a chance for us to popularise the sport to the wider community in Quảng Ninh and in the country," said Hồ Văn Hiệp of the Skating Federation of Vietnam.
"It is also where athletes sharpen their technique and tactical mind in preparation for the National Roller Sports Championship and international events including the Asian Games in China in September," he said.
At the annual event, organisers delivered a total of VNĐ150 million to the winning athletes. VNS
