Indonesia shooters grab 2 golds

HÀ NÔI — Indonesia’s Totok Tri Martanto, Dewa Putu Yadi Suteja, and Anang Yulianto took home gold after scoring 1,710 points in the men’s team 25m rapid fire pistol on May 16.

The team beat Vietnamese trio Phan Xuân Chuyên, Hà Minh Thành and Đồng Văn Đậu, who bagged silver with 1,706 points.

Thailand’s Schwakon Triniphakorn, Pornchai Suhkonpanich and Ram Khamhaeng took bronze with 1,698 points.

Hà Minh Thành then won gold in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol individual with 27 points, while Malaysia Hafiz Adzha scored 25 points for silver.

Ram Khamhhaeng of Thailand bagged the bronze with 20 points.

Shooters Jayden Jitrawee Monhprasit, Thanyalak Chotphibunsin and Chanittha Sastwej helped Thailand earn gold in the women’s 10m air rifle team event with 1,866.1 points.

Thai trio beat Indonesian Citra Dewi Resti, Dewi Laila Mubarokah and Monica Daryanti who scored 1,864.4 points for a silver medal on the first competition day in shooting on May 16.

Natanya Huiyi Tan, Fernel Quian Ni Tan and Adele Qian Xiu Tan from Singapore achieved 1,863.8 points for bronze.

Indonesian Dewi Laila Mubarokah added one more gold for her country after winning the women’s 10m air rifle with 247 points.

Vietnamese Phí Thanh Thảo earned 246.2 marks for a silver medal, while Thailand’s Chanittha Sastwej pocketed a bronze with 224.6 points.

The shooting event, which has drawn the participation of 300 athletes from nine countries for 22 sets of medals at the SEA Games, will continue until May 22.
