HCM CITY — VBA Premier Bubble games 2021 will be broadcast on television and YouTube starting October 4.

The organisers and the sponsor Novaworld Phan Thiết will jointly broadcast matches on the On Sport channel and VBA’s Youtube channel.

Trần Chu Sa, VBA executive director, said that NovaWorld Phan Thiết helped to bring basketball matches to more people in Việt Nam.

The matches are held in a “bubble” model in Nha Trang city in order to evaluate the safety and feasibility of the model amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is also the first closed model applied in sports in Việt Nam. All matches were held in the empty gymnasium for about two months in Khánh Hòa Province.

From October 4 to November 2, matches will be broadcast from Monday to Saturday at 5:30pm. On Sunday two matches will be broadcast at 5:30pm and 9pm.

Representative of NovaWorld said that accompanying the VBA will be the driving force for them in completing the NovaWorld Phan Thiết project - a tourism, resort, and sports complex by 2023.

At the end of June, the VBA organisers held a closed model-VBA Bubble in Nha Trang City in Khánh Hòa province to ensure the tournament could still take place amid the pandemic.

All eight participating teams and members of the organizing committee have strictly implemented regulations on COVID-19 prevention.

However, due to the complicated situation of the pandemic, the organisers postponed the tournament in August. — VNS
