The Ministry of Health announced 9,625 new COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam on Friday, along with a further 102 deaths. 

HCM City should pay attention to new COVID-19 variants and strengthen testing in high-risk areas such as traditional markets and malls, Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam told a meeting with city authorities on November 18.

HCM City People’s Committee on November 18 announced the immediate shut-down of bars, karaoke parlours, spas, and massage venues due to complicated developments of the COVID-19 outbreak in the city.

The Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta city of Cần Thơ has posted a record number of daily new COVID-19 cases, with the number of cases reaching 712 on Wednesday (Nov 17), according to the municipal Department of Health.
