HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed a total of 617 new COVID-19 infections in Việt Nam, an increase of 48 compared to the number of new cases on Sunday.
The new transmissions bring the total caseload to 10,732,429 since the start of the pandemic.
Of the new infections, one was imported.
Cases were detected in 37 provinces and cities across Việt Nam, comprising: Hà Nội (157), Bắc Ninh (87), Yên Bái (41), Đà Nẵng (34), Phú Thọ (29), Hải Dương (27), Hải Phòng (23), Tuyên Quang (21), Quảng Ninh (20), Thái Bình (19), Lào Cai (17), Hưng Yên (16), Thái Nguyên (16), Hà Giang (12), Nam Định (8 ), Vĩnh Phúc (8), Hòa Bình (8 ), Cao Bằng (7), Bắc Kạn (7), Lạng Sơn (7), Thanh Hóa (7), Điện Biên (6), HCM City (5), Gia Lai (5), Lâm Đồng (4), Khánh Hòa (4), Lai Châu (4), Hà Nam (3), Sơn La (3), Quảng Ngãi (2), Ninh Bình (2), Bình Dương (2), Quảng Trị (1), Bình Thuận (1), Tây Ninh (1), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1) and Bến Tre (1).
A total of 9,339 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,562,523.
There are 53 patients needing oxygen support, while no deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours. The total number of fatalities still stands at 43,083, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.
