Việt Nam reports one more imported COVID-19 case on Monday evening

A Vietnamese man who returned to Viet Nam from Russia was confirmed as the country's 1,169th coronavirus case on Monday.

HÀ NỘI — A Vietnamese man who returned to Viet Nam from Russia was confirmed as the country's 1,169th coronavirus case on Monday.

Patient 1,169 is a 57-year-old man in Vũng Tàu City in southern Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province. He arrived at Vân Đồn Airport in northern coastal Quảng Ninh Province from Russia on flight VN5062 on October 16.

He was quarantined upon arrival.

On October 25, he tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 on his third test. 

The patient is being treated at Cầu Yên Region General Clinic in northern Ninh Bình Province’s Hoa Lư District.

Previously, 14 people on the same flight tested positive for the virus. They are now treated at hospitals and health clinics in Quảng Ninh, Nam Định and Ninh Bình provinces.

On the same day, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced four more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. They were numbered 1097, 1099, 1108, and 1124.

Viet Nam has gone 54 days without community transmission of the virus. — VNS
