French expert among six new imported COVID-19 cases

Six people entering Việt Nam from abroad, including five Vietnamese and one French citizen, were confirmed to be the COVID-19 cases on Monday evening.

HÀ NỘI — Six people entering Việt Nam from abroad, including five Vietnamese and one French citizen, were confirmed to be the COVID-19 cases on Monday evening.

All of them were quarantined upon arrival.

The total number of infected cases has now reached 1,140, with 1,046 recoveries.

Among six new cases, five Vietnamese aged between 26 and 40 were repatriated from Russia on October 16.

After landing at Vân Đồn International Airport in the northern province of Quảng Ninh, they were transferred to quarantine sites in Ninh Bình and Nam Định provinces.

The French patient is a 32-year-old expert entering HCM City to work on October 17 on a flight from Dubai.

She tested positive for coronavirus on October 18 and is being treated at Củ Chi Field Hospital in HCM City.

Also on Monday, 15 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Việt Nam.

Among active cases being treated at medical facilities nationwide, five people tested negative at least three times. — VNS
