TIỀN GIANG — A new 22.5m-wide Rượu Bridge on National Highway 1A in Tiền Giang Province opened on May 4, helping to reduce traffic congestion during peak hours.

The Rượu Bridge, located in Châu Thành District, has been repaired and widened to 22.5m from 12m, ensuring traffic safety.

The National Highway 1A section passing through the Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Tiền Giang regularly sees traffic jams during holidays.

The Sao, Mỹ Quý and Rạch Miễu bridges on the highway in the province are being upgraded and are expected to be completed by September.

There are still 12 narrow bridges on the highway in the province that need to be upgraded. Accidents and traffic jams often occur on them.

The widening of small bridges helps ease transport between HCM City and provinces and cities in the delta. — VNS
