HÀ NỘI — A 6-year-old boy is the country's latest COVID-19 patient to recover at the Tây Ninh General Hospital in the southern province of Tây Ninh on Wednesday evening.
The boy, Patient 252, has lifted the country’s total recovery cases to 223, making up more than 83 per cent of total COVID-19 confirmed patients in Việt Nam. The remaining 45 patients are being treated at nine medical facilities across the country.
He lived in Cambodia with his family of five, of whom two had been confirmed positive for COVID-19 and have been under quarantine in Cambodia since then. He returned to Việt Nam with two other family members through the Mộc Bài International Border Gate in Tây Ninh Province on April 8. He was admitted to the Tây Ninh Province’s General Hospital on April 9.
During treatment, the patient was tested twice and his results were negative for SARS-CoV-2 on April 19 and 21. The boy currently has no fever, no cough, no breathing difficulties and is in a stable condition.
The patient will continue to be isolated and monitored for the next 14 days, according to the Sub-Committee for Treatment of the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control. — VNS
