Four more COVID-19 cases reported in Việt Nam, total rises to 255

Việt Nam reported four more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday evening, raising the total number of cases across the country to 255.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported four more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday evening, raising the total number of cases across the country to 255.

Of the four new cases, two had been in contact with patient 243, and two are Vietnamese nationals returning home from overseas.

The 252nd patient is a six-year-old Vietnamese boy in HCM City. He lived in Cambodia with his family of five, of whom two had been confirmed positive for COVID-19 and have been under quarantine in Cambodia since then. He returned to Việt Nam with two other family members through the Mộc Bài International Border Gate in the southern province of Tây Ninh on Wednesday. He was put under quarantine in Tây Ninh Province’s General Hospital after returning. His two other family members have tested negative.

The 253rd patient is a 41-year-old woman from Hà Nội’s Mê Linh District, who is the sister-in-law of the 243rd patient. She is now undergoing treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2.

The 254th patient is a 51-year-old Vietnamese man from Hà Nội’s Mê Linh District, who is a neighbour of the 243rd and 250th patients. He is currently undergoing dialysis treatment at the Hà Nội Kidney Hospital and is under quarantine.

The 255th patient is a 29-year-old Vietnamese man from the northern province of Hà Giang’s Bắc Quang District. He returned to Việt Nam from Russia on March 27, arriving at Nội Bài International Airport on flight SU290. He was put under quarantine in Vĩnh Phúc Province. He is now undergoing treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2. — VNS
