HÀ NỘI — The latest report by Ministry of Health on Thursday confirmed five new COVID-19 infections, raising the toll to 227.
Of all these cases, two are connected with the cluster at Bạch Mai Hospital, another is related to the Buddha Bar in HCM City.
The 223rd patient is a 29-year-old woman living in northern Nam Định Province who took care of her relative at Bạch Mai Hospital’s Department of Rehabilitation.
From March 11 to 24, she bought food at the hospital’s canteen and met some workers of Trường Sinh Company.
The patient was sent to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on March 26 after developing a fever and cough and was confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 on March 30.
The 224th patient is a 39-year-old Brazilian man, a roommate of the 158th patient who visited to Buddha Bar on March 14.
From March 27, he had been quarantined at HCM City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology in Hóc Môn District.
He was admitted to a makeshift hospital in Củ Chi for treatment after testing.
The 225th patient is a 35-year-old Vietnamese man from northern Hải Phòng City’s An Dương District who has lived in Moscow for a decade.
He returned to Việt Nam on the flight numbered SU290, seat 50D on March 25 and was isolated at FPT University in Hà Nội’s Thạch Thất District upon arrival.
After he was found to be infected with COVID-19, he was transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
The 226th patient is a 22-year-old Vietnamese man who came back to Việt Nam from Russia on the flight numbered SU290 on March 27 – the same flight with the 212nd patient – and was quarantined at Vĩnh Phúc Province Culture and Arts College.
He is now undergoing treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Disease.
The 227th patient is a 31-year-old Vietnamese man, a son of the 209th patient – a cook living in Long Biên District who was in contact with the 163rd patient who was connected to Bạch Mai Hospital.
He was quarantined at Đức Giang General Hospital from March 27.
On March 31, after being tested positive to SARS-CoV-2, the patient was sent to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
On Thursday, twelve more patients were given all clear, rising the number of recoveries in Việt Nam to 75. — VNS
