The patient was a 58-year-old British male and is residing in Hội An in central Quảng Nam Province.

His sample was sent to the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute for testing.

Việt Nam's 17th patient tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 last Friday after returning from Europe.

The Hanoian was reported to have travelled to London (the UK), Milan (Italy) and Paris (France) from February 26 to March 1 before she landed in Hà Nội early on March 2. During her stay in Europe, she had contact with many people who showed symptoms of coughing and sneezing.

Vietnam Airlines has announced that the crew members of flight VN0054, on which the 17th COVID-19 patient and several confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection, have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2.

Vietnam Airlines announced that aside from the four pilots and 12 attendants on this flight, the 23 technicians who got on the plane to examine it also haven’t shown any symptoms of the disease.
