Man seized after stabbing five people

HÀ NỘI — Four members of the same family, including a baby girl have all been murdered at their home in Hà Nội.

Nguyễn Văn Đông, 53, was arrested after the frenzied knife attack on Sunday morning in Hồng Hà Commune, Đan Phượng District.

The dispute is said to have flared over an argument between Đông and his brother, Nguyễn Văn Hải, over construction of Hải’s new house.

The Hà Nội Investigation Police on Sunday afternoon took Đông into custody.

Hải, 50 was found dead at the scene along with his 28-year-old daughter Nguyễn Thị Bắc.

Doãn Thị Việt, 48, who is Hải’s wife, and his 14-month-old granddaughter, Nguyễn Huyền My died at hospital.

Hải’s daughter in law, Đỗ Thị Nhung, 24, is recovering in hospital after suffering serious injuries during the attack. — VNS
