Three tonnes of smuggled food seized

Hà Nội Police’s Department of Environment announced the seizure of nearly 3 tonnes of smuggled cow legs and intestines on Sunday.

HÀ NỘI – Hà Nội Police’s Department of Environment announced the seizure of nearly 3 tonnes of smuggled cow legs and intestines on Sunday.

On Saturday, the agency collaborated with Market Surveillance Team No 17 to inspect Hoà Toản Food Enterprise in Cổ Điển Ward, Đông Anh District and found a huge amount of cow legs and intestines without any certificates of origin.

According to initial findings, the food was illegally imported to be distributed to local eateries at VNĐ6,000 to 11,000 (US 20 cents to 47 cents) per kilogram.

The forces are completing dossiers to handle the case. – VNS
