HÀ NỘI — Two people were killed and one was injured in a road accident on Thăng Long Boulevard in Thạch Thất District, Hà Nội on Thursday morning.

A passenger bus, truck and trailer collided at 10:40am, reported traffic police team No 11 under the Traffic Police Department of Hà Nội City Police.

Two motorbike drivers were caught between the truck and bus in the collision. They were seriously injured and died at the hospital.

The police investigation revealed that the truck (license plate 29C-842.21) turned left off of Thăng Long Boulevard in the direction of Hòa Lạc-Hà Nội. The 29-seat bus, travelling the Mỹ Đình-Hòa Bình route, crashed into the truck.

The trailer (licence 15C-067.29) ran into the bus from behind.

Police said the crash was caused by the bus driver’s failure to pay attention and the trailer driver’s inability to control the speed of the vehicle.

A woman travelling on the passenger bus suffered a broken leg. All the vehicles were badly damaged.

Traffic police were present at the scene, co-ordinating with forces and local people to help victims and ensure traffic flow. The identity of the victims remains unknown.

Further investigation is underway. — VNS
