HÀ NỘI — The Hà Nội People’s Committee has submitted a proposal to the municipal People’s Council to name 42 new streets in 17 districts.
The People’s Council will consider the proposal at its meeting early next month.
The new Hà Nội streets are named after patriotic personalities including Trịnh Văn Bô, who donated gold to the Government in 1945; former Minister of Irrigation Nguyễn Thanh Bình, who conducted research on elementary particle physics; and artist Bùi Trang Chước, who designed the Vietnamese coat of arms.
Others new streets to be named include Tân Dân, Nguyễn Đình Tứ and Tôn Quang Phiệt in Bắc Từ Liêm District; Khúc Thừa Dụ, Tú Mỡ and Nguyễn Quốc Trị in Cầu Giấy District; and Tam Khương; Trung Phụng and Nguyễn Ngọc Doãn in Đống Đa District, among others.
The length of Nguyễn Văn Huyên, Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, Trần Hữu Dự, Đặng Thai Mai and Nguyễn Mậu Tài streets has been proposed to be adjusted.
