Bến Tre takes precautions after man dies from swine flu

Bến Tre Province is continuing to supervise five relatives and medical staff who had contact with a man who died on June 29 from swine flu.

Bến Tre — Bến Tre Province is continuing to supervise five relatives and medical staff who had contact with a man who died on June 29 from swine flu.

The patient from Bến Tre Province, born in 1987, died at the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The man, who lived in Vĩnh Thành commune in the province’s Chợ Lách district, had a cough and fever before being treated at Chợ Lách General Hospital in Bến Tre Province on June 7.

The patient was transferred to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases on June 10.

Test results from HCM City’s Pasteur Institute were positive for swine flu.

Dr Lê Văn Thành, director of Chợ Lách medical centre, said this morning the centre had helped to bury the patient under the guidance of the Ministry of Health.

The centre has prepared vaccines, medicine and rooms for patients who have been isolated at the centre. — VNS
