ĐÀ NẴNG — Japan Material Engineering Services Company and Đà Nẵng-based Đông Á College have inked an agreement on training in electronics and engineering, as well as controls and automation for the Japanese labour market.

The agreement, which was signed on May 16, paves the way for 70 trainees to begin the course in November.

As planned, last year’s trainees will join a four-week internship in Japan, and qualified ones will be recruited in Japan on five year contracts.

The agreement will help to fill labour deficiency in the Japanese market in engineering, information technology and electronics.

In April, the Đà Nẵng’s college also signed an agreement with the Japan Building Maintenance Association which promised to recruit 250 graduates from the college each year to work in electronic and engineering industries in Japan.

Partners from Singapore, Germany and Japan had agreed to employ 3,000 graduates from the college to work in hospitality, nursing, and construction industries.

In a meeting earlier this year, the newly-appointed Japanese envoy at the Japanese Embassy in Việt Nam, Shinichi Asazuma, said Japan will support Japanese-style kindergarten education systems at the college, and grant visas for graduates of the college wishing to work in Japan.

More than 100 graduates from the college have been working in nursing centres and hospitality in Japan since 2016.

Đông Á college is the only education centre in central Việt Nam providing human resources for the Japanese labour market.

Last year, the college, in co-operation with the Việt Nam Automobile Manufacturing Association (VAMA), began the first ever course on automobile technology and automation engineering in the central region. — VNS
