BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — Three sailors were rescued from a sunken towage vessel in Vũng Tàu City of the southern province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu.
According to Vũng Tàu Port authority, at about 6.45pm last Saturday, the towage vessel, Phú Mỹ 17, belonging to Vũng Tàu Towage Company, sunk off Gành Rái Bay of Vũng Tàu city.
The Phú Mỹ 17 sunk while towing EPIC 08 Ship, which was sailing under the Vietnamese flag and carrying coals.
After the accident was reported, the port authority co-operated with the relevant offices and individuals to save the three sailors on board.
Also, the port authority identified the location of the incident and made plans to rescue the sailors and ensure maritime traffic and environment safety.
Investigations are on to find out how the boat sunk. —VNS
