Hà Nội authorities have disciplined 51 government officials and civil servants working at the Department of Construction or took part in construction management in the locality since 2014, the city People’s Committee reported yesterday.

HÀ NỘI – Hà Nội authorities have handed down disciplinary measures to 51 government officials and civil servants working at the Department of Construction or took part in construction management in the locality since 2014, the city People’s Committee reported yesterday.

The committee reported that the disciplinary actions for these State cadres included dismissal, demotion, warnings and wage cuts.

The offenses of the disciplined officials mainly involved lack of personal responsibility and loose State management leading to construction-related violations.

Two serious violations relating to construction policies took place at Lê Trực Garment Joint-stock Company and at a private construction company in Điện Biên Province. The violators were strictly disciplined according to the decision of the Hà Nội City Party Committee’s inspection board.

Earlier, the inspection board reprimanded two senior officials of the Hoàng Mai District People’s Committee: Nguyễn Đức Hải, head of the Commission for People Mobilization, and Nguyễn Anh Cường, chairman of the Fatherland Front.

Nguyễn Đức Hải was former vice chairman of the Hoàng Mai District People’s Committee and was directly in charge of construction management in the district area. His wrongdoing involved lack of personal responsibility in carrying out assigned tasks leading to violations in eight construction projects.

Nguyễn Anh Cường, former chief of the district’s construction inspectors and head of construction order team, failed to provide proper management and examinations, causing violations in a series of building projects in the district area. He was responsible for the loss of 27 records of construction-order violations in Hoàng Liệt Ward.

In March 2016, the city’s Department of Construction disciplined many cadres relating to offenses at 8B Lê Trực building in Điện Biên Ward, Ba Đình District.

Accordingly, Nguyễn Cương Quyết, head of Ba Đình District’s Construction Inspectorate and Phạm Hùng Phương, deputy head of the team, were demoted and transferred to other jobs.

Also in this case, Hoàng Ngọc Vinh, deputy chief of inspectorate and Lê Văn Đức, official of the licensing management department, both at the Department of Construction, received reprimands.

The Construction Department issued the decision to apply disciplinary action against four others, including dismissing Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, former head of the Điện Biên Ward’s construction inspectorate; and requiring work transfers for Phạm Quốc Hùng, An Quốc Việt and Nguyễn Ngọc Anh, all officials at Ba Đình District’s construction inspectorate.— VNS
