HCM CITY – Scientists and doctors with excellent contributions to reproductive health in Việt Nam on Saturday were given Achievement Awards.
The sixth annual event was held by the City’s Society for Reproductive Medicine (HOSREM) and the Việt Nam Gynecology and Obstetric Association in HCM City (VAGO).
After five years, the number and quality of research submitted for the awards has significantly increased.
The first prize went to research on sexual dysfunction and related factors in women of childbearing age in HCM City conducted by Ngô Thị Yên, Võ Minh Tuấn and Huỳnh Thị Thu Thuỷ.
“The value of sFlt-1/FLGF on predicting the outcome of pregnant women with preeclampsia during the 28-32 weeks of pregnancy” won second prize.
Three pieces of research on infertile couples, the efficacy of In Vitro Maturation (IVM) on patients with and without PCOS and screening of congenital heart defects by intravenous Doppler spectrophotometry in normal fetal chromosomes each won third prize.
In addition to the main prizes, four Potential Prizes were given to four pieces of research on the study Human Papilloma Virus on women in Cần Thơ City using polymerase chain reaction technique, the study of cervical length in women with gestational age from 12 to 37 weeks at Central Maternity Hospital, the average time of menopause syndrome in postmenopausal due to surgery at Từ Dũ Hospital, and rates and factors related to postnatal depression in HIV-infected women.
The total prizes were worth more than VNĐ80 million. – VNS
