ĐÀ NẴNG — A nine-storey, 222-bed private hospital opened its doors in the central city of Đà Nẵng on Wednesday.

The hospital, built on 3.7ha, cost VNĐ1.2 trillion (US$53 million) and will provide care for local and foreign residents in the central coastal region and Central Highlands.

It is the sixth hospital owned by the Vin Group, joining those in Hà Nội, HCM City, Phú Quốc Island, Hạ Long City and Nha Trang City. Two of the group’s hospitals are the only private Vietnamese healthcare facilities with international standard accreditation by JCI (Joint Commission International)

Đà Nẵng has 11 hospitals with 1,000 doctors, and more than 620 consulting rooms and medical care centres.

The city has reserved four hospitals – the Đà Nẵng General Hospital, Family Hospital, Hoàn Mỹ-Đà Nẵng and VinMec Đà Nẵng – to provide medical services and emergency treatment during APEC Summit 2017 on November 6-11.

The city will host leaders, more than 1,000 CEOs from the 21 APEC member economies as well as 15,000 visitors for the event. — VNS
