Six Vietnamese among medallists in Olympic Information Technology

The Ministry of Education and Training on Tuesday said that all the six Vietnamese candidates participating in the Asian Olympic Information Technology 2017 had won medals.

HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Education and Training on Tuesday said that all the six Vietnamese candidates participating in the Asian Olympic Information Technology 2017 had won medals.

Of these, five were silver medals and one was a bronze medal.

With the results, the Vietnamese team have equalled their achievements in the previous years.

The five students who won the silver medals are Nguyễn Hy Hoài Lâm from Huế High School for the Gifted in the central province of Thừa Thiên-Huế, Phạm Cao Nguyên from High School for Gifted Students under the Hà Nội University of Sciences, Nguyễn Đình Đại from the Hà Tĩnh Province High School for Gifted Students, Phan Minh Hoàng from the High School for the Gifted under the HCM City National University, and Nguyễn Diệp Xuân Quang from the Lý Tự Trọng High School for the Gifted in Cần Thơ southern city.

Nguyễn Khánh from the High School for Gifted Students under the Hà Nội University of Sciences got the bronze medal.

The Asian Olympic Information Technology 2017 was organised online in Australia with participation from 529 candidates across 30 countries and territories.

With these results, Việt Nam ranks seventh among 30 countries and territories. — VNS
