Three die in road accident on highway

At least three people died and many others were injured in a road accident at predawn on Wednesday.

LÂM ĐỒNG — At least three people died and many others were injured in a road accident at predawn on Wednesday on the Vĩnh Hảo-Phan Thiết Highway which passes Hàm Liên Commune, Lâm Đồng Central Highlands Province.

At around 1am, two sleeper buses, with unidentified license plates, were travelling in the same direction from Hà Nội to HCM City.

When reaching KM220+100, the sleeper bus behind hit the back of the one in front. The strong collision caused both vehicles to be severely deformed.

Nine ambulances were assigned to the scene to take victims to hospital.

The injured people are now under treatment at the Bình Thuận Province General Hospital.

The three dead victims are Trịnh Gia Bảo, 16, Lê Phạm Anh Vũ, 40 and Phan Kim Thanh, 25.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. — VNS
