HCM CITY — A man is being questioned by police in HCM City after the car he was driving ploughed into motorbikes on a roundabout, leaving two people dead last weekend.
Phạm Bảo Hoàng was identified as the driver of the Jeep on Kinh Dương Vương Street in Bình Tân District in HCM City when the crash happened in the evening of June 15.
The 31-year-old, from the southern province of Tây Ninh, was driving from the Miền Tây Terminal to the An Lạc roundabout when he lost control of his vehicle.
Two women, aged 50 and 68, were killed in the crash. Another man was seriously injured.
Following the collision, Hoàng left the scene but was urged by his family to hand himself over to the police.
He is currently being detained at Mỹ Phú Ward Police Station in Cao Lãnh City, Đồng Tháp Province, for violating regulations on road traffic under the Article 260 of the Penal Code. — VNS
