HCM CITY – American International Hospital (AIH) on Thursday (March 27) in HCM City officially launched a CSR programme that aims to provide cancer patients with access to high-quality, specialised medical services from both leading Vietnamese and foreign experts and raise public awareness about the importance of regular cancer screening.
The initiative, called "1,000 Free Medical Consultations & 12 Free Surgeries for Cancer Patients", also seeks to promote early detection and improve patients' chances of successful treatment.
The programme is scheduled to run throughout 2025, offering free medical consultations for 1,000 individuals suspected or confirmed to have breast, thyroid, lung, or gastrointestinal cancer.
During these visits, patients will receive tailored treatment recommendations and recovery plans to enhance their well-being and prolong their lives. Additionally, the programme will provide free surgeries for 12 cancer patients.
Notably, some patients may have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials at Raffles Hospital Singapore. This is a valuable chance for patients to access the most advanced treatment methods, including personalised regimens, next-generation medications, or specialized treatment techniques. In certain cases, patients may also receive financial support for advanced treatment costs in Singapore, offering new hope for those facing challenging circumstances.
During the press conference, Dr. Nguyễn Hồng Trung, medical director and representative of the AIH’s Executive Board, shared: "With the message ‘No Giving Up,’ AIH Hospital is committed to standing by patients in their fight against cancer. Through this programme, AIH not only offers access to high-quality, specialised medical services from leading experts at both AIH and Raffles Hospital Singapore but also contributes to the mission of caring for cancer patients in Việt."
In recent times, AIH has strengthened its medical collaboration with Raffles Hospital Singapore, applying advanced cancer treatment methods such as targeted therapy, gene therapy, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery for cancer patients. Additionally, AIH Hospital actively encourages regular cancer screening to ensure early detection and timely treatment.
The programme will provide free consultations for individuals diagnosed with or suspected of having breast, thyroid, lung or gastrointestinal cancer. Patients can register for the programme by contacting AIH directly via the hospital's official website or hotline 028 3910 9999.
Through this initiative, AIH Hospital hopes to receive positive support from the community and society, allowing it to continue helping even more cancer patients in the future. – VNS
