Russian humanitarian aid arrives in Việt Nam

HÀ NỘI — A flight of the Russian Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief delivered 35 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Việt Nam on Friday to support recovery efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi

A handover ceremony was held at Nội Bài International Airport, attended by senior officials from both countries.

Among the attendees were Nguyễn Văn Tiến, Deputy Director of Việt Nam's Disaster and Dike Management Authority, and I.S. Nesterov, Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in Việt Nam.

Nesterov expressed condolences on behalf of the Russian government and people, acknowledging the severe loss of life and destruction caused by the typhoon.

He emphasised the longstanding tradition of mutual support between Russia and Việt Nam, stating:

"Our two nations have a history of standing by each other during difficult times. This aid, delivered by the Russian Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, reflects the deep bond of friendship between our peoples over the past 75 years."

Nesterov added that he hoped the aid would help victims return to normal life as quickly as possible.
