HÀ NỘI — Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO) has started sending support to six provinces impacted by Typhoon Yagi through a collaboration with HCM Communist Youth Union (HCYU), local authorities and partners.

Under the relief programme, of a total value of more than VNĐ4.2 billion (US$170,000), SABECO and its partners have been sending essential goods and food supplies to residents in flood-stricken areas of Bắc Cạn, Cao Bằng, Lào Cai, Thái Nguyên, Tuyên Quang and Yên Bái.

Each province is set to receive support worth more than VNĐ650 million and an additional VNĐ50 million in financial aid was sent to frontline forces in each province to assist with post-disaster recovery efforts.

The essentials, including bottled water, food and flashlights, were sourced from MM Mega and Chương Dương Company and were distributed to beneficiaries by local authorities and provincial HCYU members.

Prioritising employees’ safety and business continuity

With 44 member companies and more than 12,000 employees, SABECO is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its employees, particularly at the subsidiaries and factories managed by Bia Sài Gòn Đông Bắc Trading Company and Bia Sài Gòn Miền Bắc Trading Company, which have been directly impacted by Typhoon Yagi.

Since before the typhoon's landfall, the Board of Management of SABECO (BoM) alongside SABECO’ Labor Union and relevant Departments have been working closely together to ensure the safety of employees and their families.

The company evaluated the condition of its facilities and infrastructure and coordinated with local authorities and emergency services to continue to supply products to businesses eager to rebuild.

SABECO’s employees have also demonstrated their solidarity by joining the SABECO Trade Union's donation drive to further support employees in affected areas.

CEO of SABECO, Lester Tan said: “At SABECO, as a leading company in Việt Nam, our 'Việt Nam Together' vision underscores our responsibility to stand with the communities we serve.
