THÁI BÌNH — The Thái Bình City Investigation Police Division is looking at a possible criminal case of "unintentional action to cause death" after a preschool child died after being forgotten on the school’s shuttle bus.
The count is stipulated in Article 128 of the Penal Code 2015.
At around 6pm on Wednesday, the police received a report from T.D.A, 20, who lives in Dũng Nghĩa Commune, Vũ Thư District.
A. informed them that his young nephew T.G.H., who attended the Hồng Nhung Kindergarten in Phú Xuân Commune, Thái Bình City, had been forgotten on the school’s shuttle bus, leading to his death.
Immediately after the incident, leaders of the Thái Bình Province Party Committee, the provincial People's Committee, the municipal People's Committee and the provincial police, launched a joint investigation into the terrible incident, along with the People's Procuracy.
Initially inquiries showed that at about 6.20am on Wednesday, N.V.L, 59, from the Quang Trung Ward, in Thái Bình, drove a 29-seater bus, with a teacher on board, from the Hồng Nhung Kindergarten to pick up H. and nine other children and bring them to school.
When arriving at the kindergarten L. opened the door to let the teachers and the pre-schoolers get out, and then drove away, parked the bus at the school gates and left.
When entering the classroom, the teacher took a photo of all the students in attendance and sent it to the school's software for monitoring and management. She noticed that H. was absent but did not notify his family.
At about 5pm on the same day, A. went to the school to pick H. and discovered the tragic incident.
